John is the founder and Managing Director of Shoreline Consulting. As such, he sets the direction and ensures that Shoreline delivers the pragmatic and commercial outcomes that clients have come to expect from the firm since its inception in 2009.
In addition to the technical expertise garnered over his 26+ years of international experience in the asset and wealth management industry, John has increasingly taken on the role of trusted advisor to the C-level executives of client firms. This not only helps to assure that change programs are successfully delivered and stay true to strategic intent but has also provided senior executives with ongoing insights into the unique dynamics of transformational programs, frequently spelling the difference between success and failure.
John’s expertise spans the asset and wealth management value chain across both operations and technology, having successfully delivered assignments covering investment management front to back office, financial planning & retail distribution, retail investment platforms, product administration, and sales & marketing.
Having assisted dozens of companies globally, he has deep knowledge of Shoreline’s core specialisations of Target Operating Models, IT strategy and architecture, data management and solution selection.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology in the US, graduating with highest honours. He also holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Portfolio Management from the Securities Institute of Australia.
Bruce co-founded Shoreline in 2009 and has over 20 years’ experience within the Financial Services industry, with 11 years’ experience as a management consultant. Prior to commencing his management consulting career, Bruce was employed by HSBC Asset Management where he held a variety of roles including Head of Operations, Head of Business Support and Manager, Portfolio Accounting.
James leads Shoreline’s business in Asia. He has 30 years’ of financial services experience, including 14 years within the asset management industry.
Prior to joining Shoreline, James worked with Eastspring Investments, Singapore, where he held a number of senior management positions including COO – Investments and Program Director of Eastspring’s Target Operating Model (‘TOM’) program. Previously James was Head of Prime Brokerage, Client Service for Merrill Lynch Hong Kong. He began his career with Morgan Stanley and has also held positions with Bear Stearns Asia (Hong Kong), Nasdaq Japan and Chi-X Singapore.
James has lived and worked in Asia for over 23 years and can speak Mandarin and Japanese.
Dominic leads Shoreline’s business in North America and has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry across data and analytics and asset management. He has created and led teams to develop and execute transformational strategies at pension funds and data companies.
Prior to starting his management consulting career, Dominic worked with CPP Investments (formerly Canada Pension Plan Investment Board), where he was Director, Enterprise Data Services leading data strategy and program implementation. Previously Dominic held various leadership roles at TMX Group including Director, TMX Market Insights and Director, Data Delivery. He started his career at Thomson Reuters leading global data management teams.
Barnaby is an experienced Asset Management professional with over 15 years in the industry focused on development of investment platforms, process improvement and execution strategy for large global Asset Managers. He leads Shoreline’s Front Office practice, working in collaboration with business and IT leaders globally to develop, challenge and lead strategic direction in platforms and processes for the front office.
Prior to Shoreline, Barnaby was Executive Manager Equity Platforms for First Sentier where he was responsible for all Equity and FX, research, Order management and execution platforms. Prior to this he worked in consultancy and software development functions covering order management, execution and proprietary management tools for leading European investment firms.
Angelo is a Digital and Technology leader at Shoreline. He has a track record of successfully delivering strategic technology change in complex environments with a strong commercial and business outcome focus. As a true force-multiplier in all aspects of technology, Angelo has proven experience in digital strategy, platform architecture, data integration and solution delivery. He also has extensive expertise in target operating model design and developing intelligent automation solutions using AI and advanced analytics on various cloud technologies.
Angelo has in excess of 15 years’ experience working across multiple industries in Asia-Pacific with specialist knowledge in the asset, wealth management and pension industries across both operations and technology; covering investment management front to back office for a range of asset classes including alternatives and multi-assets, financial planning & retail distribution, retail investment platforms, product administration, and sales & marketing.
Angelo is passionate about business building, helping FinTech’s create sustainable value at scale and driving an enduring culture of innovation. He also embraces every opportunity to be involved in meaningful projects which foster social impact and sustainability.
Angelo holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Business (Finance) and Computing Science with Distinction from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Dale is a leader of Shoreline’s Product & Distribution service area. Dale has a great passion for developing and implementing business and product strategy, and assessing new product and market opportunities. He has a proven ability to take major business initiatives from concept to market in a timely and cost-effective way. His expertise covers all aspects of the product lifecycle from product development to product management, product rationalisation and product governance.
Dale’s experience has been gained over 25 years in the asset management, wealth management and pension industries across Australia and Asian markets in both senior management and consulting roles. In addition to his Product & Distribution expertise Dale has extensive experience in major program delivery, target operating model design, and system and service provider selection.
Dale has a demonstrable track record of being able to apply his skill-set in a range of situations, and achieve positive results in a short time frame. He is able to successfully deliver both short-term and longer-term assignments.
Dale has an MBA from the Melbourne Business School and has tertiary qualifications in economics, finance and financial planning.
Harry has over 15 years’ of broad financial services experience with a focus on outsourcing, project delivery, process improvement and operating models. Harry leads Shoreline’s Middle and Back Office practice with a focus on developing successful relationships between our clients and service providers which is founded on strategic principles and a long-term view of success.
Prior to Shoreline, Harry worked with several custodians in roles covering significant transformation initiatives, internal strategy, program and project delivery, and client services. He has also led operational teams focusing on the delivery of external change for customers and brings a wealth of experience in operating model design from throughout the financial services industry.
Kenia has over 22 years’ of experience in the financial services industry globally, having stints at Credit Suisse, OCBC and LaSalle National Bank in North America and Singapore. She has extensive experience in project management, system implementation and stakeholder management. She carries deep subject matter expertise in equity, fixed income and derivative products. In her career, she has successfully managed teams and steered business transformation projects for large buy-side clients in the APAC region. For the last eight years, she has been working as an implementation manager for the Bloomberg AIM portfolio management system.
Kenia has a Bachelor of Finance Management degree from the University of Indonesia and an MBA from the University of Illinois in the US. She is also a CFA charter holder.
Mark has 15 years’ of international experience in complex software design, implementation and delivery from working with a variety of clients across London, Tokyo, Sydney and Singapore. He is formally qualified in architectural methodology (TOGAF), agile development (SCRUM) and various vendor technologies. He holds postgraduate qualifications in finance and an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
Liana is a Managing Consultant at Shoreline specialising in a pragmatic approach to delivery of Front Office solutions. She has expertise in data, process and systems associated with research, portfolio management and trade execution. Liana is a strong advocate of change and a driver of continuous improvement.
Having spent 18 years working in front to back office environments within the Asset Management industry, Liana is passionate about delivery of solutions that meet business needs and create value. Her application of Investments domain knowledge combined with technical expertise and agile mindset has proven to be successful in the delivery of these valued solutions.
Prior to joining Shoreline, Liana worked at Colonial First State Global Asset Management where she most recently held a management position leading change teams within the technology department. During that time she worked with key business sponsors and stakeholders to successfully deliver strategic platform and improvement programs for the front office. Liana holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Information Technology from the University of Technology in Sydney.
Bianca is a financial services consulting professional focused on business analysis of investment management processes. Her specific areas of expertise include business analysis and requirements gathering, front to back office trade life cycle and investments knowledge, wealth management, project management, and process analysis and restructure.
Bianca has worked for a variety of asset managers across APAC and London. Prior to joining Shoreline she also had 9 years’ experience in the financial planning industry.
James has over 13 years’ experience in global custody, asset management, wealth management and financial insolvency from working in Europe and Australia.
James is financial services specialist with extensive business analysis experience in system implementation and process improvement, as well as in-depth knowledge of investment data management.
Parikshat is an experienced management consultant at Shoreline specializing in operating model design, technology strategy, vendor selection and product management. He has extensive experience in designing and executing various front and middle office transformation programs for North America based investment managers and financial institutions.
In addition, he has also helped various financial institutions adopt new technologies, upgrade legacy platforms, and improve operating processes. He has a strong understanding of investment management functional model, business processes and application stack.
Parikshat has an MBA from the Indian School of Business and tertiary qualifications in finance and technology management.
Shyam has over 15 years of experience across Information Technology, Asset Management, Investment Banking and Insurance Industries, with strong Business Analysis background using Agile Methodologies (SCRUM). He has strong functional background on Asset Management Business Transformation focusing on Front Office Operations & Implementation, Benchmarks, Enterprise Reference Data Management, Investment Data Migration, Market Data Vendor Management including Data Procurement & Licensing.
Shyam holds MBA in Finance along with Masters degree in Computer Science. He has also completed AML/KYC, CDD & Risk Management program from Wealth Management Institute of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Sandra is a change manager with over 10 years’ experience implementing organisational, process and system changes on large business transformation programs across a variety of sectors including tertiary education, insurance and asset management in Singapore and Australia. Competent Prosci certified Change Management professional with a comprehensive background in all areas of change management – strategy, planning and execution. Sandra thrives on working with people to bring the solution to life and maximise stakeholder engagement to drive adoption of new ways of working.
Saurabh is an accomplished management consultant with extensive business analysis experience in system implementation and process improvement for buy-side firms. He has deep domain expertise in back and middle office functions and has delivered various analytical and client reporting solutions in the areas of performance attribution, GIPS, ex-post risk, investment data management and investment research for asset manager and asset owner clients.
Saurabh has over a decade of experience in the asset & wealth management industry. Over his career, he has worked with institutional asset managers, custodian bank and a management consulting firm across APAC and North America region. He is also a CIPM certificate holder and a CFA Institute program volunteer.
Alan has over 20 years’ experience in technology consulting including mission critical systems development, project implementation and project leadership. Over his career he has worked with many major firms to transform their technology and operations through multi-year global implementation programs. Alan has deep domain expertise in and developing target operating models and enterprise architectures for all aspects of an investment organisation’s systems, processes, people and data.
Michael has over 20 years’ experience in the IT sector with a focus on financial services. His experience covers a wide range of roles including management consultant, Chief Information Officer, enterprise architect as well as technical roles including software development, technical architect and security specialist.
